PLANAR CHAIR

Four parts, three planes, two seats, one chair. Designed in 2019 for “The Chair” show curated by Laura Young for The Future Perfect. This one of a kind double sided chair is made of Verde Bamboo Quartzite and features two seats which share a singular back. Four individual parts slot together and are held in place by gravity alone.

The Planar Chair is a Limited Edition work designed and produced by Fort Standard’s designer Gregory Buntain. These limited works provide a more focused avenue for exploration allowing a deeper dive into personal interests without the broader constraints of standard furnishings. While maintaining a functional use within the context of the home, these works often push natural materials and processes outside of their normal context and beyond conventional use.
